Mobile Cruise Terminal

This project improved the Cruise Terminal Facility to accommodate the arrival of Carnival Cruise Lines beginning.  The building was dormant for approximately 5 years with no ship activity from the Port of Mobile.

The building infrastructure was upgraded to comply with the current requirements for Carnival Cruise Lines and Customs and Border Protection.  The HVAC upgrades included conditioning the passenger processing areas, providing negative air pressure in several rooms and providing exhaust equipment in the agricultural processing room.  The electrical improvements included new lamps in the lighting throughout the facility interior with upgrades to the lower level and exterior lighting to LED technology.  The exterior LED lighting is color changing to accent the facility at night.  The implementation of the new Homeland Security Presidential Directive #12 was accomplished as part of the new security upgrades.  The project included a complete upgrade of the video surveillance and intrusion detection systems for the facility.  The technology infrastructure was completely replaced with fiber optic and Category 6 cabling.  All passenger processing and observation systems were upgraded and compartmentalized for compliance with current regulations and requirements.
