UWF Cybersecurity Center

This project is a 10,000 SF tenant improvement space for the nationally recognized Center for Cybersecurity at the University of West Florida.

    • Location:  University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL
    • Project Size: 10,000 SF
    • Cost:  $1,500,000
    • Facility Type: Higher Education
    • Owner: University of West Florida
    • Services:  Electrical and Mechanical Engineer

Located on the second floor of the recently renovated Studer Tower in downtown Pensacola, this space will provide a highly visible location for UWF and the Center for Cybersecurity. The project includes off campus faculty offices, training SOC, a cyber training lab, an innovation studio, and meeting space. A portion of the facility is open to the public showcasing the unique program offerings and technology, and the space overlooks the highly active first floor lobby through full height glazing provided at its perimeter.

The space included an interactive-instruction server room with color-changing lighting programmed to cycle through different colors based on simulated cyberattacks. The students have full view of the server room from the training lab via floor-to-ceiling storefront glazing. The server room and associated components were fed via an in-row uninterruptible power supply/power distribution unit (UPS/PDU). The space was cooled via in-row computer room AC units. High-efficiency LED lighting with programmable dimming lighting controls was provided throughout the renovated space. The existing HVAC equipment was utilized to serve the areas outside of the server room.
