The building is cooled by a high-efficiency 140-ton air-cooled chiller located in a separate mechanical yard adjacent to the emergency generator.  Funding was not available for a redundant chiller, therefore the project allocated space for a future chiller and installed piping and valves for temporary chiller connections.  Heating is provided by two 1,250 MBH gas-fired, condensing hot water boilers.  Each hydronic system is piped in a variable-primary configuration with one redundant pump (N+1).  One central station 24,500 cfm air handling unit with four 20 hp direct-drive (N+1) fans serves zoned variable volume terminal units with hot water heating coils.  The air handling unit is equipped with a catalytic air cleaning system consisting of particle capture, ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), and photo-catalytic oxidation (PCO) to limit bacteria, keep coils clean, and enhance indoor air quality.  Air filtration includes MERV 8 pre-filters and MERV 15 after-filters.

The Electrical Systems include an essential power system and enhanced grounding system.  Each Treatment room has a headwall with normal and emergency power as well as medical gas. The building systems also include a sound masking system for speech privacy, access control for security, and a building wide public address system.

The single-story structure has a complete voice evacuation fire alarm system monitored by the University Campus Central Control.  Locally, the fire alarm system has the capability for mass notification with a remote microphone located at the Security Desk at the main entry.  The building is also fully sprinklered and completely supported by an emergency generator.
