The addition and renovation project to the Gulf Breeze Community Center doubled the square footage of the existing facility. The new community center features two full size basketball gymnasiums, 4 multipurpose conference rooms, a stage, and a new tennis pro shop to support the 10 new exterior tennis courts. New night-sky friendly sports lighting was provided for the tennis courts and exterior basketball courts. A number of energy saving lighting techniques were incorporated into the design including high-efficiency T5 and LED lighting, low voltage lighting controls, and daylight harvesting in all perimeter spaces to assist in the owner’s requirement of energy efficiency and sustainability.
