Auburn Plainsman Park Upgrades

Auburn University is undertaking a comprehensive, multi-phase renovation of Plainsman Park, its 6,300-seat baseball stadium, with an estimated total construction cost of $25 million. Dell Consulting is providing Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and Information Technology engineering design services for the project, which is currently underway.

The renovation program includes three new premium venues—the Hall of Fame Club, First Base Club, and Home Plate Club, along with the War Eagle Terrace, enhanced concourse and club-level spaces, and upgraded team and media facilities. Improvements are designed to elevate the fan experience, expand premium seating options, and modernize operational support areas.

The 984 Club is a three-story addition that includes a main cooking kitchen at field level, indoor concessions on the concourse level, and premium club seating on the upper level with integrated game-day operations and press accommodations. Upgrades include a reconfigured concession area, modernized restrooms, and enhanced finishes to create a contemporary facility. Mechanical systems integrate with the campus hot water and chilled water networks, supported by tertiary variable-speed pumps, high-efficiency air handling units, and advanced HVAC controls tied to Auburn’s building automation system. Electrical systems feature a new 480V distribution network, LED/dimmable lighting with distributed controls, fire alarm, telecommunications, and audiovisual infrastructure.

The War Eagle Terrace, located above the Green Monster Wall in left field, offers a unique general admission viewing deck. Electrical design reuses spare 480V panelboard capacity and provides LED lighting, convenience receptacles, and a complete telecommunications buildout to support modern pitching analytics and fan engagement technologies.

The Hall of Fame Club, created from a renovated weight room, offers an indoor gathering space, bar, and restrooms at field level, plus outdoor seating behind home plate. HVAC systems utilize rooftop variable-speed packaged units, with rooftop exhaust fans for ventilation. Distributed lighting controls and dimmable pendant fixtures create an adaptable ambiance, while weather-resistant receptacles with USB charging serve outdoor patrons.

The Broadway Club repurposes existing broadcast and coaches’ booths into a premium club and bar, supported by a high-efficiency VRF system providing zone-specific climate control. Dedicated exhaust fans serve restrooms, while new LED lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and audiovisual systems modernize the facility.
