Mechanical Engineering

What sets our mechanical engineering services apart is the high value we place on partnering with our clients to provide the mechanical engineering solution that best fits them and their specific project. We don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; our ability to listen drives our design excellence. Dell Consulting’s mechanical engineers strive to understand each owner’s needs early in a project, then use their vast experience to identify a mechanical engineering solution that best fits those unique needs. Our mechanical engineers work closely with facility staff to integrate their design standards and equipment preferences into the solution, while also identifying value-added options for consideration when we deem appropriate. We work closely with the architect to document key elements that might impact engineering design, avoiding surprises later in the project.

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Designing building HVAC systems involves art as well as science. It is a skill acquired from many years of experience, and our engineers have that experience to draw from. We are familiar with use of unitary and applied equipment in all-air, hydronic heating and cooling, geothermal and steam systems. We have successfully designed central heating and cooling plants, high-reliability systems such as data centers and medical facilities, correctional facilities, industrial process air conditioning and ventilation including pulp and paper facilities.

Plumbing
Our team provides plumbing system designs for educational, institutional, industrial, administrative, healthcare and retail along with military, public and private sector clients. We are familiar with the plumbing codes that govern in different jurisdictions. We are up-to-date on the latest requirements for low-flow, energy conserving plumbing fixtures and equipment, including solar domestic water heating.

Fire Suppression
Our fire protection services include fire suppression system requirement evaluations, design and development of fire suppression system design drawings and specifications. We have a thorough understanding of building codes, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes for fire suppression systems. Our team is capable of developing fire suppression system performance specs or fire suppression system piping and head layouts based on computerized hydraulic calculations, whichever is required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) of your project.

Other
Dell Consulting’s mechanical design services include non-HVAC design such as emergency power fuel supply and generator ventilating systems, air conveying systems, compressed air and natural gas distribution.
